Four Healthy & Simple Habits To Adopt For Success

Breaking bad habits is hard, but not impossible. We can get so comfortable with the idea of staying the same, that we self-sabotage ourselves. Whenever you enter into a new season in your life,  you don’t start over by adapting old habits. You begin with new habits and let your old habits die. Most of us are afraid of changing our ways, but we don’t become successful by staying the same. Apart from the reason why so many people are successful is that they learned how to adopt healthier habits in order to flourish in this new season of their lives. Everything starts with you, but if you aren’t willing to change your ways then you are not ready for success. I’ll be the first to admit changing isn’t easy, but it becomes harder the longer you are not willing to. I knew that my life wasn’t going to get any better if I didn’t adopt healthier habits, so I did. Here are some healthy habits you can practice for success.

Show Up For Yourself Everyday

Nobody’s going to support you as you support yourself. “First they’ll ask you why and then they’ll ask you how.”Whenever you start something new, people will always question your ability and your mental state. Nobody will ever understand what you are trying to do until you do it. That’s why it’s important to show up for yourself every day. Everything starts with you. If you want people to take you and your business seriously, then you need to show people how serious you are. You sacrifice, your time, money, sleep, and sometimes family to get results. If there are no results then it’s something you are doing wrong. Ask yourself, is it more important to support someone else’s dreams than your own? Is it more important to show up every day for someone else’s dreams than your own? If you aren’t showing up for yourself each and every day no one will. It’s okay to support others, but when you are trying to build something for yourself, you have to put yourself first. You cannot grow by putting in half the work. You have to be willing to go all-in on yourself before you expect others to. No successful person got where they are by cheating themselves. You do the work first so that others see that you are not to play with (period). Always remember once you reach a certain milestone in your success, the price goes up. That’s when the doubters and naysayers begin to ask you how and that’s when you add your price tag. You work hard now and show up for yourself now so later you can reap the fruits of your labour.

Stop Making Excuses

I know first-hand how easy it is to make an excuse for every little thing. I use to make so many excuses for why I couldn’t do this/that and the truth is I was just looking for an easy way out. It’s so easy to give up, but it’s hard to stick it out for the long run. Tell me this, when has making excuses gotten us to a place we needed to be? When have excuses given us opportunities or opened doors for us? The answer to those questions is never! When you constantly make excuses over and over, you begin to hold yourself back from achieving success. Think about this, when we want a new job and truly want a new job, the first thing we do is begin looking for new jobs. Then we start applying to these new jobs until one call. We do this over and over and you know why? Because we realize if we keep making excuses for why we can’t leave our current job then we won’t ever find the job that’s right for us. See when you want something so bad, you push through the excuses and take the necessary steps to get the thing you want. Success is not handed to you, you have to work for it. In fact, everything in life that you want ( house, car, a six-figure salary, family, marriage) you have to work for. The only way to do that is to stop making excuses. _“Excuses are the tools of incompetence, used to build monuments of nothingness.” _ Think about this quote the next time you make an excuse. Excuses won’t give you results or bring you success.

Be Consistent

If you’re waiting on a sign to tell you how to reach success, then this is your sign. Consistency is the key to success. Think about this, in order to get paid a two-week 40-hour paycheck, what do you do?  It’s simple, you consistently show up for work every day. If you show up for one week then you get paid one week’s worth of work. This is why every successful person preaches about consistency. You don’t become successful, by half-ass things. You become successful by consistently showing up and showing out. No matter what goals your trying to achieve, they all require you to be consistent. If you want to achieve success then start by being consistent. Consistency will take you places others haven’t gone because they lacked consistency.

Wake Up Early

It’s true what they say the “early bird gets the worm.” Waking up early is a great way to clear your mind and set your intentions on having a good day. Mornings are so important because we all know how chaotic our days can get especially when you have a lot on your plate. I use to be that girl that woke up around 11 or 12 in the afternoon and needless to say I was always tired, grumpy, unmotivated, and just plain old lazy LOL. But, once I begin to take my mornings back my life became so much more peaceful. I know it seems far-fetched, but waking up early allowed me to clear my mind, focus on positive thoughts/things, get a few tasks done, and encouraged me to set my intentions on having a good productive day. This is the easiest way to form healthy habits. If all else fails, start waking up early and see how much of a difference it makes. When you’re trying to achieve success every hour counts. Again every successful person will tell you to wake up early and take your mornings back for yourself.

In Conclusion

Forming healthy habits takes time, but if you don’t get started now you’ll easily fall back into your old ways. Take it from someone that has lived the same life four years straight. It’s easy to live in our comfort zone, but if we want to ever prosper into something bigger and better, we have to start changing our ways. Nobody likes to be told what they’re doing wrong, but if no one is telling you what you doing wrong you’ll continue to live the same life and nothing will change. Change is uncomfortable but staying the same won’t ever give you the life you desire. Start slow if you must, but don’t give up. A “little progress is better than no progress.”
